چکیده
Abstract The computations performed by a neural circuit depend on how it integrates its input signals into an output of own. In the retina, ganglion cells integrate visual information over time, space, and chromatic channels. Unlike former two, integration is largely unexplored. Analogous to classical studies spatial integration, we here study in mouse retina identifying stimuli for which activation from green or UV color channel maximally balanced deactivation through other channel. This reveals nonlinear subsets On, Off, On–Off cells. latter On display response suppression rather than under stimulation. Furthermore, occurs independently depends contributions rod pathway surround inhibition, may provide about boundaries, such as skyline natural scenes.
